We are so thankful for our amazing staff and students at WMS! Today at our assembly, we had the honor of celebrating several outstanding individuals. We recognized our Students of the Month and Kindness Student of the Month, along with our “Cheers for Peers” teachers, Mrs. Hickman and Mrs. Ridgeway. A special congratulations to Prezley Wright, who earned 1st place in the Deer Creek Conservation District Poster Contest—what an incredible achievement! We were also treated to a beautiful performance by the WPS Native American Club, showcasing a rich and meaningful representation of their culture. There is so much to be thankful for here at WMS. WMS students and staff had the incredible privilege of hosting our annual Veterans Assembly, welcoming hundreds of veterans and their families. It was a moving and meaningful event where our students showed their respect and gratitude for the brave men and women who have served our country. We are so proud of our students for their heartfelt performances and tributes, honoring the sacrifices made by our veterans. It is always an honor to open our doors to these heroes and their families, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to recognize their service and commitment to our nation. Thank you to all who attended, participated, and helped make this event so special. Special thanks to Mrs. Hickman, Mrs. Moses and Mrs. Pond. To our veterans, we thank you for your courage and sacrifice. You are an inspiration to us all.

Being present helps students: ✅ Build stronger friendships ✅ Stay on track academically ✅ Develop healthy habits for the future Let’s work together to ensure your child gets the most out of every school day. Thank you for making attendance a priority! 📚✨ #EveryDayCounts #WMSProud #StriveForSuccess

Our middle school students went to Elgin on Saturday to audition for the SWOBDA honor bands. They competed against students from many other schools. Competition is stiff, since the bands only take so many people. It is not easy, and we are very proud of all of our students. 7th grade: Savannah Ward (4th chair tuba), Jase Bryant (2nd chair trombone), Nathan Nguyen (1st chair trombone), Eli Ridgeway (7th chair trumpet), Aiden Foust (3rd chair alto saxophone), Levi Metscher (7th chair trombone) 8th grade: Lucas Chain (3rd chair trombone), Ellie Martin (3rd chair french horn), Kailey Moore (5th chair flute)

Important Reminder for tomorrow November 8th!! WMS will be attending a pep assembly at the high school early in the morning. News 9 will there filming! Send your students in Eagle gear ready to represent Weatherford Public Schools! Please note the following details: • All middle school students and staff will report directly to the high school gymnasium that morning by 7:55 am. No middle school students or staff will report to the middle school on Friday. - If you drop off your student via car, please drop them North of the Field House in the car loop and have them walk over to the gymnasium/cafeteria. • All route buses will run as normal but will drop students off at the high school. If your student shuttles from East they will need to get buses 1,2, or 3 and get dropped off at the High School. • 1st hour athletes will NOT have practice and should report to the high school gymnasium as well. • If your student typically walks to school and you are unable to transport them to the high school Friday morning, we will make arrangements to get them to the high school from the middle school. • If you need to check your student out in the morning, we will be at the high school from the start of the day until approximately 11:00 a.m. Please call ahead to confirm your student’s location. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns. GO EAGLES!!

📢 Mock Election Day Fun! 🗳️ Yesterday, our students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a mock election to vote on President! It was so much fun watching them stand in line, go through the process, and engage in this real-world experience. This hands-on activity gave them a deeper understanding of our democratic system and the importance of voting. Look at post to see some great pictures of our young voters in action!

WMS students celebrated Día de los muertos last week in Mrs. Dougherty's Spanish classes. They shared memories about loved ones who had passed away and honored their memories by creating art throughout the week. "It's not about the quality of the art produced, but about the time spent remembering the people we hold in our hearts." Students remembered grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and siblings. Día de los muertos is a celebration of lives passed and our deep and true connections with those lives.
