 Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Rebecca Miller. Thank you for visiting my web page! I am so excited to be part of your Burcham Elementary experience, but I'm even more excited to be your child's teacher! We are going to have a fun year full of learning! I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. We will spend a lot of time getting to know eachother this year, but here are a few tidbits to get ya started.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma. I have one younger sister, Rachel. Growing up, we didn't go on a lot of vacations, but instead spent our summers rodeoing. (Little known fact: I used to be a barrel racer.) I attended high school in Washington where I played slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball as well as ran track. When I graduated high school, I moved to Weatherford to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University. There I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, as well as my Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences. I also was blessed to meet and then later marry my husband, Cory. We both are proud alumni of SWOSU! Go Dawgs! :)

I’ve taught 1st grade here at Burcham since 2011. I absolutely love teaching! It is truly my passion and I strive to be the very best teacher that I can be. 

I have an AMAZING family that I am very proud to talk about! My husband, Cory, teaches weightlifting at the Middle school. He is also the high school baseball coach, and coaches football. We have one daughter, Scout. She’s a hurricane, but she sure is cute! We are also expecting a son in September 2021. We  have one dog, a boxer named Honey. We enjoy all things outdoors, from sporting events, to hunting, camping, fishing, or just sitting on the back porch. My mother in law is Mrs. Donna Miller, also a first grade teacher here at Burcham. So, you're surrounded by Miller's! I am also the proud aunt to an adorable little guy named, Iker.

I am so excited to be your child's teacher and for you to be a part of our learning experience this year.
